Sling is a fantastic piece of technology that allows you, free of charge, to watch the TV that you would normally watch at home on your mobile device. Whether you choose to watch on your laptop at the office or your mobile phone on the bus or train, Sling can get you there. It simply passes the signal that would go to your TV down into the Internet for you to pick up; you control the TV and its channels using controls on your mobile device. Simple but ingenious, I’m sure you’ll agree.
Now there are murmurings from those in the know that iPhone TV is just around the corner. Could Sling’s technology help Apple get iPhone TV up and running quicker? You bet. Sling’s CEO has even said as much: he’s even been down to Apple to chat with the relevant people. Will Apple let Sling get involved in iPhone TV? Absolutely not.
Of course if you have a cracked iPhone then you can simple download the Sling software, get a sling box, and just imagine that you’ve got iPhone TV already, but clearly that route isn’t for everyone. And it seems a shame that users are being forced down this route when there is such a simple solution. Oh Apple!
