One often overlooked feature of the Ares file sharing software is the unique chatroom. The chatroom allows you to talk directly to others who are using the Ares client, and discuss whatever is on your mind.
Not only is the Ares chatroom a great place in which to wile away a few hours talking to like-minded filesharers, but it can actually be a source of new files to share. Often the torrent trackers take a while to pick new shares up, but in the chatroom you can be told by friends as soon as something new comes onto the system. Want that latest film that’s just been released? Check in the chatroom and ask if anyone has seen it.
The social element of Ares is often overlooked: people find a torrent they want, start to download, and forget about it. If this is the way you want to proceed, then that’s fine, and It’s great that Ares allows you the freedom to do this. But why not chat with those people who you’re sharing with?
