iTunes gets legal MP3 downloads competitor

March 2nd, 2008 by vanalli

iTunes has got another competitor to look out for in the world of legal MP3 downloads. Despite having one of the most buggy websites in history, MySpace is looking to take on the music industry by offering a service that will offer free ad-supported listening and paid, legal MP3 downloads, as well as music subscriptions.

Major record labels have been approached the deals look to be all but done. The MySpace music service would be in direct competition with almost every online music supplier out there.

The legal MP3 downloads would be aimed at the 70 million US users of MySpace who log on every month because they haven’t worked out what Facebook is yet.

With MySpace’s huge social network, record labels are keen to get involved with the website as the possibilities for legal MP3 downloads and ad-supported streaming music are endless.

We just hope they pay someone to code the site so it isn’t full of spam and glitchy code like the 70 million user profiles in the US.
